About the event

Explore the hidden corridor of the Mattabesset River in Cromwell to the Coginchaug River in Middletown on a beginner-friendly, 4-mile paddling tour that winds from dense forest into a lush floodplain forest and finishes in a freshwater tidal marsh. This gentle excursion offers a rare perspective of a thriving ecosystem, where you can spot kingfishers, great blue herons, painted turtles, spotted sandpipers, bald eagles, and egrets along the way. Participants provide their own kayak, and complimentary transportation will be provided to shuttle both you and your kayak back to the starting point at the end of the trip.
