About the event

This is my preferred spot for wildlife viewing. Beavers have built dams and lodges next to the river and will come swim near dusk. Great egrets are a shocking white against the stands of waterlilies and pickerelweed. Towards the end of summer, the wild rice is on full display and red cardinal flowers brighten up the river's edge. Osprey, kingfisher, great blue heron, swallows, and cedar waxwings are common. Occasionally, an eagle that nests near the Arrigoni Bridge will visit.

Please note that you will need to step into the river to get into your kayak. Wear shoes that can get wet.
