Cromwell Meadows Wildlife Management Area
Freshwater Tidal Marsh
Middletown CT. This is a beginner friendly tour of a freshwater tidal marsh. Float through hundred of acres of wetland grasses, bulrushes, and wild rice. This is home to many species of birds, beavers, and muskrats. The beaver activity near sunset make this is an ideal location for golden hour paddles.

Mattabesset River
Floodplain Forest
Cromwell, CT. A beginner friendly tour of a floodplain forest with coves of emergent freshwater wetlands. Plants are the highlight of this trip with forest birds, turtles, and muskrats as an added bonus. This location provides the most shade for daytime paddles.

East River Marsh Wildlife Area
Salt and Brackish Tidal Marshes
Guilford, CT. A great tour for people who are comfortable in a kayak and can turn left and right. This wildlife area features a high tidal marsh with smoothcord grass, ribbed mussels, and fiddler crabs. Many osprey nest here to raise their young. Willets, egrets, and oystercatchers are common. This is a beautiful location for mornings, sunset, and moon tours.

Great Island Wildlife Management Area
Salt and Brackish Marshes, Tidal Mudflats, Eelgrass Beds, Sandy Beaches
Old Lyme, CT. This trip is great for people who have kayaking experience and would like to travel a longer distance. The variety of ecosystems makes this a great location for bird watching.
